1. Visa between Panama and "Friendly Countries"
The 50 “Friendly Countries” are: ANDORRA, ARGENTINA, AUSTRALIA, AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, BRAZIL, CANADA, CHILE, COSTA RICA, CROATIA, CYPRUS, CZECH REPUBLIC, DENMARK, ESTONIA, FINLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY, GREECE, HONG KONG, HUNGARY , IRELAND, ISRAEL, JAPAN, LATVIA, LIECHTENSTEIN, LITHUANIA, LUXEMBOURG, MALTA, MONACO, MARINO, MEXICO, MONTENEGRO, NETHERLANDS, NEW ZEALAND, NORWAY, PARAGUAY, POLAND, PORTUGAL, SERBIA, ESLO DEL SUR, SWEDEN, SWITZERLAND, TAIWAN, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, URUGUAY AND UNITED KINGDOM.
Any citizen of the 50 countries considered "Friendly Countries" has the option of moving to Panama under the status of permanent resident.
2. Visa of economic solvency in Panama
In this type of residence in Panama, we find different possible applications:
- If you make a minimum investment of $300,000 in capital or real estate.
- If you make a minimum investment of $30,000 in a Bank Certificate of Deposit.
- If you make a combination of the two previous options: an investment in capital goods + a placement in a bank Certificate of Deposit, the sum of which reaches $ 300,000.
3. Business visa
If you are interested in this modality to apply for residence in Panama, you must contribute an investment of $160,000 in a Company in this country.
4. Visa for accelerated investment in Panama
This modality offers foreigners the possibility of obtaining a visa for permanent residence in Panama through an “accelerated” investment process in 30 days if at least one of the following requirements are met: invest $300,000 in real estate, invest $500,000 in the purchase securities on the Panama Stock Exchange and/or invest $750,000 in a deposit in a bank in Panama.
5. Visa for investment in reforestation in Panama
There is also the possibility of applying to residency in Panama if you participate in a reforestation project by the Government of Panama with a minimum investment of $80,000 and that involves the purchase of at least 5 hectares of land.
6. Retiree Visa in Panama
Anyone over 18 years of age with a lifetime pension of at least $1,000 can opt for this type of visa to reside in Panama.
7. Visa for married to a citizen of Panama
You could also access to obtain residency in Panama in the event that a foreigner marries a citizen of Panama. It will not be valid if it is a drill.
8. Professional specialist visa in Panama
In this case, it is a 2-year temporary residence in Panama, to which a foreigner can apply if he works in a company in that country, has a professional degree from his studies and pays Social Security taxes.
9. Visa for parents of children born in Panama
Once the child reaches 5 years of age, the parents will be able to access this type of permanent residence in Panama.
Documents necessary to obtain Panama residency
Any citizen who wants to apply for residency in Panama must gather the following documentation:
- FBI background check
- Marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Birth certificate
- School notes (if applicable)
- Copy of identification of your country
